What is Assisted Hatching and how does it help?
The assisted hatching helps embryo to hatch out of the zona pellucida, a layer of protein containing and protecting the embryo.
Not all embryos are able to hatch out of this zona by themselves. Hatching out of the zona is a necessary step for an embryo to successfully implant into the body, therefore the assisted hatching (AH) is a powerful technique used in combination with in-vitro fertilization before the embryo transfer or blastocyst transfer.
